All of us have a certain genre of music that makes us move. Some of us can't stop tapping our foot when we hear electronic music, and others of us feel like dancing when we hear country music. Music affects our psyche and our body - such as our heart rate - and is deeply emotional; how many of you have made a playlist for when you feel introspective or sad?
Some studies have shown that listening to music at 432 Hz is healing and relaxing, because that is the natural frequency of the universe. In 1952, German physicist Winfried Otto Schumann documented something he would end up calling the Schumann Resonance. He saw that global electromagnetic resonances exist within the cavity between the Earth’s surface and the inner edge of the ionosphere, and that the frequency of these electromagnetic waves ranges from from 7.86 Hz to 8 Hz; he concluded that this frequency is essentially that which the Earth beats at, or the Earth's heartbeat.
Without getting into the technicals, we will say that 432 Hz resonates with the frequency of 8 Hz. Listening to music at this frequency is said to make us relaxed, conscious and open to intuitive learning because it synchronizes the brain to the Earth's heartbeat. Some say that it gives us more clarity an opens our heart chakra. Think for a moment about all the frequencies that travel through your brain in a given day: cell phones, Wi-Fi, radio and microwaves.
