All About The Sun ~ Sunbathing, sun gazing, and other sun rituals

The sun gives us heat, the energy of light,
and various forms of power...
Sunlight carries light frequency and crystalline light consciousness. The sun is always broadcasting codes of awakening, light frequencies, and divine intelligence. This broadcast is triggering the ascension process for humanity, for the earth, and for all beings.
It is incredibly beneficial to charge your light body by spending time, even 20 minutes, in the sunshine. Especially early morning or in the evening, just before sunset, to tune into the light of the sun and to draw it into your being. Let it fill your heart, body, and light body with brilliant golden sunlight.
The ancient yogis and many other cultures knew how to use the sun to heal all kinds of illnesses, and bring about radiant health. In the West we also have a history of using sunlight therapy that dates back to the ancient Greeks. It was called heliosis. Today, the name for sunlight therapy is heliotherapy.
We evolved as a human race for millions of years under the warmth and love of the sun. The sun's ultra violet rays help us create Vitamin D in the body, which is essential for many bodily functions. Other lesser-known benefits of sun exposure include:
  • improves bone health and strengthens teeth
  • increases oxygen content in blood
  • supports the immune system; white blood cells increase with sun exposure
  • protects against dementia and brain aging
  • kills bacteria; ever heard of solar water decontamination?!
  • essential for decreasing symptoms of asthma
  • helps with skin disorders such as psoriasis and eczema
  • lowers cholesterol and blood pressure
  • alleviates depression
Ultraviolet light is just one frequency of light; there are eight others - infrared, and the seven spectrums of visible light. Each one has its own unique healing power!
Try this Sun Visualization Meditation
Close your eyes and visualize the light of the sun above you. Feel the sunlight streaming in, pouring down all around you. Breathe, relax, open your heart, and feel the light of the sun flowing down in through your crown chakra at the top of your head. Let your crown chakra open to absorb the divine light of the sun that carries codes of awakening.
Breathe and let the light flow into your heart. Expand your heart with golden crystalline sunlight. Feel the sunlight flowing into each and every cell. Relax and allow your cells to fill with more and more light as you become more vibrant, energized, supercharged.
Let go of any lower vibrations, fear, doubt, or tension. Release these into the light and welcome the sunlight to shine brighter, more radiantly, more in alignment with your authentic truth and your true divine nature as a crystalline being. Open your heart, feel the divine light pouring in all around you. Visualize yourself glowing as the sun; as pure sunlight.
Let sunlight fill you, filling your heart, expanding out around you. Imagine your heart light is expanding so wide that it is surrounding your entire mind, body and spirit. Now, let it grow even more vibrant, so that it shines outward to fill whatever room you are in. It shines outward to illuminate your town, city, state, country. Shine so brightly that you are as the full light of the sun shining forth towards earth, humanity, and all beings.
Need more sunshine in your life? Try these rituals and practices...
  • Sun Salutation A - a classic for all yogis!
Surya Namaskara A Lino Miele
  • Watch the sunrise or sunset (when the violet index is low and safe for the eyes)
  • Take a sun bath: Find a spot to lie on your back in the sun. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to ground yourself. As you breathe, begin reflecting on your inner strength, your fire—that part of yourself that is confident and powerful Picture that part of yourself as a fire burning inside of you; it may be fierce and strong, or it may only be a spark. Picture the sun's fire adding to your own inner fire. Continue to breathe in the sun’s fire; absorb it as long as you’re able. When you rise, you will continue to carry that fire with you.
  • Sun gaze responsibly. When you gaze at the sun you should be barefoot and standing on bare earth or sand (not on plants or on rocks or manmade surfaces). Sungazing is done within the period of one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset. During these times the Ultraviolet index is low and safe for the eyes.
